01
~96%less reading for your bot
Your bot pays for every word it reads. Google's free Gemini tier can read long PDFs, YouTube videos, audio and dictation, then hand your bot a short brief.
BEGINNER MISTAKE
Your bot reads a 100-page PDF itself
THE TRICK
Gemini reads it free. Your bot reads a 300-word brief.

TRICK 01 / FREE GOOGLE INTERN
These are the steps
01Free Google intern
1
Get a free Gemini key
aistudio.google.com/apikey, then Create API key. No card needed.
2
Save it as a secret, not in chat
SAY"Ask me for a secret called GEMINI_API_KEY." Paste the key in the secret box.
3
Add the google-intern skill
SAY"Run intern check." It replies: set.
4
Drop in a long PDF
SAY"Use the Google intern on this. What are the 3 biggest risks?"
5
Paste a YouTube link
SAY"Intern this video. What does he say about pricing?"
Public or non-private files only. On the free tier, Google may use what you send.

720 to 2bot wake-ups a month
A free Cloudflare robot checks the page every hour. Same page? It goes back to sleep. Changed? It rings your bot with a short before and after note. Nothing gets added to the page.
BEGINNER MISTAKE

TRICK 02 / FREE DOORBELL
These are the steps
02Free doorbell
1
Name the page and the change
SAY"Set up a free doorbell on [pricing page]. Tell me only when the prices change."
2
The bot deploys the robot
One command on Cloudflare's free plan. Schedule: every hour.
3
Open /test
It says no_change. That is a wake-up your bot just skipped.
4
Open /test?simulate=1
It shows the exact note your bot would get: before and after.
5
Connect the doorbell
Make a routine started by a webhook (a private link that wakes the bot). Save its link and key as secrets. Simulate again.
CITED: Cloudflare's free plan allows 100,000 requests a day. An hourly check uses 24.

03
~11xless usage over a year
A script runs on the bot's computer without the AI thinking through every step. The bot writes it once, then just starts it and reads a 2-line result.
BEGINNER MISTAKE
Your bot redoes the same job by hand every week
THE TRICK
The bot writes a script once. The script does the repeats.

1
Do the job once with the bot
SAY"Pull this week's YouTube views, subscribers and top video into my Stats sheet."
2

Fix anything wrong now. Never script a mistake.
3
Turn it into a script
SAY"Turn exactly what you just did into a script that needs no AI to run. Test it on today's numbers."
4
Save it as a skill
SAY"Save a skill called weekly-stats that runs the script, replies in 2 lines and flags only odd numbers."
5

Type /weekly-stats. The sheet fills itself. The bot says 2 lines.

Text, not screenshots or PDFs
TRICK 05 / 09 · WHAT IT IS
Text, not screenshots or PDFs
05
~20xless usage: text vs a full screenshot
An image costs by its pixels, not its file size. TinyPNG makes the file smaller, but the pixels and the cost stay the same. Cropping cuts the pixels. Text costs least.
BEGINNER MISTAKE
Full-screen screenshots and whole PDFs
THE TRICK
Paste the words or send a TXT file. Must send an image? Crop it.
SAY"Convert this PDF to a text file, then answer from the text." Or use the Google intern.
4
Must send an image? Crop it
Snipping Tool, or Cmd Shift 4 on a Mac. Only the part that matters.
5
Or shrink its size
Fewer pixels wide and tall means less usage. Compressing the file alone does nothing.
Demo: send the same error as a screenshot, then as text. Same answer, a fraction of the usage.

3

4

2

THE PROMPT / PASTE THIS INTO GROK BOT
Paste this into any bot
Turn on lean credits mode. Same work, same quality, fewer credits. Save these rules as a skill called "lean-credits" and add a one-line memory note: "Lean credits mode is on. Follow the lean-credits skill on every job."
1. Brief-back. Before any job bigger than a quick answer, reply in 3 lines: goal, plan, done list. Then start, unless something is unclear.
2. Done list. Every job gets a short list of what must be true when it is finished. Check each item once, mark pass or fail, then do one correction pass on the fails only. If a step fails twice, stop and ask me.
3. Batching. If I send several fixes, do them all in one pass and reply once. Never ping me or other bots with thanks, acknowledgements or progress updates.
4. Text, not images. Ask me for text, or a cropped screenshot, instead of full screen images. Read only the pages of a document that matter.
5. Files for long outputs. Anything over about 300 words goes to a file. Reply with the path and a 3 line summary.
6. Script after 3 repeats. When you do the same job a third time, turn it into a script or skill and rerun that from then on.
7. Cheapest tool first. Use a connector first, then an Apify actor or a plain script, then a script that reads the page. Click around in the browser only as a last resort.
8. Google intern. If a GEMINI_API_KEY secret exists, send long public PDFs, videos and recordings to the google-intern skill and read only its brief. Never send client or private files to the free tier.
9. One complete brief per handoff. When you hand work to another bot, send one message with the goal, inputs, file paths and done list. No back and forth.
10. Doorbell. When I ask you to check something every day, suggest a free doorbell (the free-doorbell skill) that wakes you only when the page changes.
Never cut the work itself to save credits.
Reply "Credit Shield is on".
